The aim of this qualification is to contribute to the skill, knowledge and overall performance of the Retail industry's workforce. It provides a first insight into the principles and processes of retail and will aid career progression.
The NVQ is designed for people who are involved in either stock storage and order processing, preparing products for sale, merchandising and selling goods, customer service, hygiene and goods movement or a combination of these areas.
Course Duration:
6 - 12 Months
Entry Requirements:
Candidates must be working in a retail environment.
Course Outline:
NVQ Level 2 Retail comprises of 8 units, 3 core units and 5 optional units.
• Unit 1 Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace
• Unit 2 Contribute to keeping the workplace secure
• Unit 3 Work effectively in own organisation
The optional units can be selected from the following group headings
1. Stock storage and order processing
2. Preparing products for sale
3. Merchandising and selling goods
4. Customer services
5. Hygiene and goods movement
Learning Outcomes:
Candidates will receive a City & Guilds for Level 2 Retail.

You will be assessed by the following methods:
Observations, Questioning, Witness Testimonies, Approved Prior learning
