ESOL Level One, you will look at improving your speaking, reading and writing of English. The topics are based around personal life or the workplace.
This program aims to develop your confidence of the English language.

Part 1
U.K. Life then and now
- Become aware of social trends
- Be able to present advantages and
disadvantages
- Plan a talk

Part 2
The News
- Explore newspapers and T.V. news
- Develop language used in the news
- Make comparisons

Part 3
Office life
- Look at language for formal and informal
situations
- Read and write letters and e-mails
- Follow and give instructions in the office

Part 4
Seeking work
- Share skills and experience of work
- Prepare and write a C.V.
- Explore documents used in job applications

Part 5
Make a difference
- Read and write reports about local issues
- Give views on local issues
- Prepare a meeting or discussion group

Learning Outcomes:

 

At the end of this program you will be entered for a recognized City & Guilds certificate. This will comprise of three parts speaking, reading and writing.

Assessment:

 

Candidates will complete 3 short question papers.
