This course is open to anyone who wishes to know the basic methods of preserving life. It is also appropriate for staff who work alone with vulnerable client groups.

Course Outline:

   Principles of First Aid
   Resuscitation
   Control of Bleeding
   Unconsciousness
   Burns & Scalds
The delegate will also be able to demonstrate the following:
   Emergency Resuscitation
   External Chest Compressions
   Control of Bleeding
   Care of the Unconscious

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the course the delegates will have a thorough understanding basic life support.

Assessment:

Candidates will be assessed throughout the course. A certificate of achievement in basic life support will be issued to successful delegates.
